Well, as it turns out the marina lost the part numbers and didn't tell us, so no parts were ordered. I think this may be a conspiracy to keep us here. After all the saying is "you can come to Isle of Hope, but you can never leave". The mechanic did need to work on Kindred Spirit first so we were greatly entertained by the shuffling of the boats. Since some of these boats are large, didn't handle well in tight spots or were too beamy (that's the width of the boat) for the fairways due too other boats in there, we were asked if we could 'be on the dock' around 1:00 which translated to "we need people to help with the lines and/or fend off the moving boats from those already tied in the fairway". This is the empty spot in back of Journe to...
And here comes damnificare (love that boat name and yes it is all one word lower case). Andrew is on her letting Captain Rick now how many feet they were from other boats and the dock coming up.
And here comes the hands and the C-Dock crew to pull her in and tie her up.
They (I mean we) did this for Southern Belle who was in the spot where damnificare went into and move to in front of us. Of course first the boat in front of us had to move to behind Gene. Then in came a catamaran that had a story of losing one, then both engines. The plan was to move Drift Away over to D-Dock. That did not happen.Somewhere in all of this, I think bringing in the catamaran, Jeremy hurt his shoulder. He may be out a few days. This means that Brian will probably need to cover for him. AAAAHHHH!!! Brian was to come with us to St. Augustine since I do not do well at night and it would be a 24 hour sail. And Brian needed the hours on a sailboat for his captains liscence. We will find out more today.
It's a conspiracy!!! I just know it!!!
Patti and Bill :-)
